Math Reflection 3

Part 1 : Sometimes it is more useful to use fractions over decimal notations or the other way around. When a number is easy to work with and is a benchmark fraction I usually like to use decimal notations because it's easy to put into a decimal notation and figure. For example, what 1/4 of 1. It would obviously be 0. 25 which is easy to figure out. However, when an equation is difficult and long, I usually use fractions to make it easier then narrow the fraction down to a lower and equal fraction. For example, 1/8 of 7 is 7/8. In this problem I do not need to narrow the fraction lower and make it smaller because 7/8 is the lowest it can go. This was a very easy way to figure out this problem.

Part 2 : Yes, it does. Sometimes, while comparing decimals you have to compare a large number to a smaller one. For example, 115 and 37. It is difficult to do 37 ÷ 115. You do know that your answer will end up in decimals, this how this rule relates to comparing decimals. The rule is that when diving a smaller number by a larger number, the answer will always be less than one and a decimal. However, you usually could make that decimal a fraction as well. So the rule does relate to fractions as well.
