Eurydice

Today, we watched a high school play about the greek myth Eurydice and Orpheus. They slightly changed the greek myth. However, it was still amazing. The play was a mixture of dance and drama. I thought the students must have worked very hard to perform this for us!

I enjoyed that the play ended with you to use your imagination. Eurydice was washing away her memories in the river in the underworld, Orpheus came. Then, Orpheus died and he was washing away his memories too. If you really think about what was happening, you would realize that they can be together again in the underworld. On the other hand, they won't remember each other anyways since they washed their memories away and they might end up in different parts of the underworld.
Another part, I really enjoyed was that they put the dance in the play. This is because it really showed the emotion. You felt angry, sad or happy when they wanted you to. Even though they had the music, the dancers showed the feeling even more. The dancing also made it more interesting because they had a lot of talent.

I enjoyed watching the play very much! I don't think they could've done anything better. I would like to thank them for preparing this play for the 6th graders. In fact, they have been practicing since December! It's amazing because they changed the script themselves, the high school students that performed showed so much talent.
