Goal #3

What: explain my thinking to think deeper in math

How: choose a few problems in homework/school journal and explain how I got my answer

December 13, 2012

From Monday to Wednesday I chose at least one problem and explained it everyday in my math and homework journal.

December 19, 2012

Almost everyday so far this week I reminded myself to explain a math homework problem or journal problem and I did it almost everyday. It made me understand the problem more and if I got it wrong when I was explaining it I found my own mistake that I made doing the problem.

January 14,2013

Today our class were assigned to do 5-8 math. At my house when I did my homework I explained 3 problems. To be honest it kind of helped me understand the problems better when I explained it on the paper.

January 23,2013

Basically the whole week everyday I chose a problem from my math journal/homework and explained it.

February 19,2013

This week on my homework I usually explained one problem in a picture or words.

February 25,2013

I had math homework 7-2 and 7-3 so I decided to draw a picture on my 7-3 math of an algorithm to make myself understand more of what I did in my head and guess what? I realized I actually did partial products in my head!

March 5,2013

Today I had two math pages since I was not at school yesterday. On 7-5 I used an algorithm and showed it on the paper.
