Matter Unit Reflection

In science, our very first unit was about the measurement of matter. I learned a lot of new vocabulary. Some new vocabulary I learned was neutral buoyancy, negative buoyancy, positive buoyancy, ballast, matter, volume, immiscible, buoyant force and density. I also learned how a submarine works. It;s the ballast tanks that control it. Also, from that knowledge about the submarine I learned that I could make a submarine out of a plastic bottle. A key thing about making a plastic bottle out of a submarine is blowing into the pipe. Something interesting is that liquids layer when they have different and various densities. I am still slightly confused about what density actually is and the exact meaning of it. I know how to find it and what it does, but what exactly is it? The most memorable thing to me was probably finding the volume of me in class with my friends. I thought it was very fun and memorable because we got to go into the water outside and get wet during class. It was also fun to help your friends figure out their volume as well. Another activity that was also very fun was the cartesian divers because we did races. It was cool to see how fast some people could sink the cartesian divers. The winner of my class was Luke.
