Observation Neutral Actors

I watched 10 minutes of the movie, The Spiderwick Chronicles. 

Here are my five observations :

1. The neutral characters are very quiet, it's just some growling background noises
2. the main character is in the center of the crowd, neutral characters are blurred
3. the neutral characters are the same type of monster, main character's different
4. the main character is really pointed out because he is yelling at everyone
5. It's easier to focus on the neutral characters when the sound is off because you don't hear the main character's voice
